MyHandyNet was founded by five people, three are in wheelchairs, one is a caregiver and the other is a dear friend supporting their cause. The primary goal of MyHandyNet is to empower the people who have a disability, their caregivers, their family and friends through the powerful effort of one group, or one community. Never before has this community used a central point to collect and forward its voice. Yes, there are many outstanding individuals and special interest groups serving people with various disabilities, but these organizations usually operate independently from each other and consequently the power of the collective community is diffused, weakened and mostly unrecognized. Take a moment to imagine the shear number of people in this community and you will see the potential of how much this collective group of individuals can accomplish. Use MyHandyNet and help focus the needs of this community to make changes in products, services, policies, and regulations locally, statewide, nationally and world wide. Together we can do so much more!
