MyHandyNet Wingmen (sounds better than Wingperson) are men and women who help people with a disability in just about any way they are willing and able. Wingmen work together as a team locally in their area and throughout the United States to strengthen and uplift the community of people with a disability.
As you may know, there are many people with a disability who spend too much time alone. Some are also unable to fix things in and around their home and can not perform basic wheelchair and automobile maintenance. It would be a wonderful gift to frequently visit people in our community to see if they are in good health and need a helping hand. You can make sure they are tilting and reclining, ask if they are receiving and taking their medication and make sure their wheelchair is working properly. Can they access the Internet to buy the things they need and get their email? It's a great comfort knowing someone from our community will visit with them from time to time and see that their community cares for their well being. As a MyHandyNet Wingman there is so much you can do with what little we have.
