Gavin Williamson and Eric Lindsley met in Santa Cruz back in 2003 the day Eric got out of the hospital and about 1 year after Gavin's injury. The pair quickly began scheming new ways to shred. Eric, then a testing engineer for Santa Cruz Bicycles, and Gavin, a student at UC Santa Cruz soon began to ride their handcycles around the city together. After discovering ParaPros Downhill bikes and Outlet Industries (now R-One) – two down hill 4-wheel mountain bike manufacturers – online, Lindsley and Williamson, whose backgrounds were in mountain biking and BMX, quickly decided that fourcross (the moniker for the sport of 4-wheel mountain biking) was much more their speed than handcycling.

Later that summer they road tripped to Whistler British Colombia for Crankworx, biggest downhill event of the year. In 2006 and with some insistence from Lindsley – who had raced the Mazda Avalanche in Japan the year prior – Williamson and Lindsley hopped over to Japan to take the title for Uncle Sam two years in a row, this time the gold medallion found its home around Gavin's neck. That summer saw the team back in Whislter sporting their new team colors - Pink and Black.

Eric on A-line, Crankworx 2005 Lindsley is running a freelance engineering company called Pryme Offroad Engineering out of Sutter Creek, CA. Pryme is currently assisting Active Force Foundation with the development of a new four wheel mountain bike. The goal is to provide a high performance 4-wheel rig at a cost that more average riders can afford. The bike should be ready by late summer of 2007. The pair – also known as the P.O.E. Racing Team – continues to race internationally and is planning to produce a Murderball-style documentary on the history of fourcross.

“For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them, e.g, men become builders by building and lyre players by playing the lyre; so too we become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.”
